“BE TOLERANT AND YOU WILL PREVENT CONFLICTS”

(английский язык, 10 класс)

Цели урока:

Образовательные: совершенствовать умения и навыки коммуникативной компетенции по видам речевой деятельности в области: устной речи (говорения); аудирования (на материале аудиотекста - извлечения определенной информации из прослушанного текста, заполнение пропусков текста недостающей информацией).

Развивающие: развивать творческие способности школьников, умения анализировать, обобщать, делать выводы.

Воспитательные: Воспитывать толерантность, политическую грамотность учащихся.

прививать интерес к изучению английского языка.

Сопутствующая задача – контроль умений учащихся самостоятельно оценивать себя и своих одноклассников в разных видах речевой деятельности.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, компьютер, экран, проектор, презентация “Майкл Джексон”.

Ход урока

1. Мобилизующий этап урока (Организационный момент. Приветствие, сообщение о характере работы на данном уроке)

Teacher:  Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Take your seats. How are you? I hope you are fine. I think you are all right. All are ready for the lesson. Who is on duty today?

2, 6. Сообщение темы, постановка проблемной задачи. (Формулируют сами учащиеся, учитель подводит учащихся к осознанию темы)

Teacher:  What was the main topic of all our lessons during this term?

Students: For all this term we have been talking about conflicts between people, their reasons, the ways of preventing conflicts and their peaceful resolution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Teacher: As you guess, today we shall speak about conflicts, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The theme of our lesson is «Be tolerant and you will prevent conflicts». At the end of the lesson you have to answer the following questions:

Second group: Why do political parties and states have conflicts? What can different conflicts lead to? What can we do about conflicts?

7.Развитие навыков аудирования с целью извлечения определенной информации. (Listening).

Teacher: Very well!  To begin with, let’s learn some facts about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Listen to the text and tick the Human Rights you hear about. Then say which ones were not mentioned in the text. (p. 131 ex. 95)

In 1948, the United Nations wrote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It listed 29 different … (1) rights. According to the declaration, every person has the right to speak freely, to marry whomever he/she wants, to choose the work he/she likes and to get an education. The list of human rights includes protection against cruel punishment and … (2) against racial, ethnic, sexual, and religious… (3). These rights are important for people throughout the world. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Task №2. Read and translate the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Work in groups. Ask your partners to read any article of the Declaration in English. Then find its equivalents in Russian, read them aloud.

Human rights set out in the Declaration:

Article 1

• All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 2

• Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Article 3

• Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 4

• No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

Article 5

• No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

• Все люди рождаются свободными и равными в своем достоинстве и правах. Они наделены разумом и совестью и должны поступать в отношении друг друга в духе братства.

Статья 2

• Каждый человек должен обладать всеми правами и всеми свободами, провозглашенными настоящей Декларацией, без какого бы то ни было различия, как-то в отношении расы, цвета кожи, пола, языка, религии, политических или иных убеждений, национального или социального происхождения, имущественного, сословного или иного положения.

Кроме того, не должно проводиться никакого различия на основе политического, правового или международного статуса страны или территории, к которой человек принадлежит, независимо от того, является ли эта территория независимой, подопечной, несамоуправляющейся или как-либо иначе ограниченной в своем суверенитете.
