Children: Christmas!

T: You’re right everyone loves this holiday. If Christmas suddenly disappear, will people be sad? What do you think?

C: OF COUSRE!

T: So, one trouble has happened. There is one person, who is very angry and unhappy, and he wants to steal Christmas. He wants no one to celebrate it. I think you know this person very well and try to guess about whom I am telling you. I give you a hint : He is alone, he lives in the dark cave with his dog Max, he hates Christmas. Who is he?

C: Grinch

T: Grinch wants to steal Christmas, let’s help him to find main reasons to love Christmas. To do it, we should overcome some tasks.

Slide 3 “doors”

T: Here you can see 5 doors. You should open all of them and find 5 main reasons to love Christmas. Let’s go!

The 1st door (5 min)

T:Here you can see the Christmas tongue twister. You should say it as quickly as possible, but first of all let’s listen to it and then say it all together.

Any volunteers to say it quicklier? If no, let’s have a look at the 1 st reason to love Christmas .They are Christmas lights. Do they look nice?

The 2nd door. (7 min)

T: To learn the next reason to love Christmas, you should listen to the history of Christmas tree. While listening to, you should do the task.

T: Of course, we can’t imagine Christmas without Christmas tree and decorating it.

The 3rd door (10 min)

Now you are to read the text about Christmas in England and answer some questions of mine.

  1. When is Christmas celebrated?

  2. When does Father Christmas come?

  3. Who helps him to deliver all the gifts?

  4. Why is the 26th called as a boxing day?

T: Do they create Christmas mood?

The 4th door ( 7 min )

And to learn the 4th reason you should listen to the song and fill in the gaps. It’s very famous song, everyone knows it. There is no Christmas without Christmas songs.

T:So, as you can understand the 3rd reason to love Christmas is…. T: Do they create Christmas mood?

Если не успеем письмо: Now, we have shown to Grinch the main reasons to love Christmas. Let’s recollect them. They are: spending time with family, decorating Christmas tree, tasty food and Christmas songs. Now, our Christmas is out of danger, we’ve done great job.

Of course, the last reason to love Christmas is presents. Everyone likes to get and give presents.
