London is the capital of England and it is one of the largest cities in the world. About seven million people live here. London’s most famous sights are Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Trafalgar Square is the most famous square in London. In the centre of it we can see Nelson’s column. Nelson was an English admiral who defeated Napoleon’s army at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The Tower of London is near the river Thames. It was a fortress, a royal palace and later a prison. It is a museum now. There are a lot of interesting collections at the Tower of London. Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s London house. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. Big Ben is the name of the big bell in the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament.
